The Arthur River Cabin Park really is located on the edge of the world..!

Arthur River Cabin Park - Arthur River - West Coast - TASMANIA, AUSTRALIA

We are located on Tasmania's ruggedly beautiful West Coast, right on the seaside fronting the Southern Ocean

The Arthur River Cabin Park is located in the small town of Arthur River on Tasmania's rugged West Coast. Just over 20km south of Marrawah at the end of Tasmania's far NW Coast, the scattering of holiday homes at Arthur River marks the start of one of the Tasmanian coast’s last great wilderness areas, where mighty trees that have been washed down the Arthur River have crashed and battered against the windswept shoreline. At one time the entire west coast looked like this, but the progressive damming of its rivers has left the Arthur Pieman Protected Area as a unique reminder.

Trees on the steep banks of the river include myrtle, sassafras, celery-top pines, laurels and giant tree ferns. It’s dangerous to swim in the protected area, due to extremely wild conditions and occasional freak waves – even walking along the beach, where you have to pick your way over scattered bits of lumber, can be an obstacle course.
It is stated the Arthur River is one of the last truly 'wild rivers' of Australia. This recognised wilderness area of world value is densely forested with Myrtles, Sassafras, Celery Top Pine, Laurels, Blackwood and giant tree ferns.

The park is centrally located being two kilometres south to 'Edge of the World' beaches, Arthur River Cruises and two kilometres north to Aboriginal sites and surfing beaches. It is also central as a base for day trips to the Woolnorth Wind Farm, the Dismal Swamp Maze or four wheel driving trips exploring towards the Balfour mines and the Pieman River.

Much of the Arthur River area is inaccessible by car. However, the South Arthur forest drive, from Kanunnah Bridge to Tayatea Bridge, has several short walks and picnic areas. These include a Celery Top pine nature trail, the Balfour Track rainforest walk, Kanunnah Bridge picnic area, and the Julius River & Lake Chisolm Forest Reserves.
